Milkface CAM - 9/15

Well last week certainly had us worried. Little One had been limping around Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - and that was when she would actually move! She was very lethargic, and gradually stopped eating and drinking.

We didn't know what was going on - how did she hurt her paw, and why is it making her not want to eat?

Well, we took Milkface in to see the vet on Friday, and it turned out she had an infection and a fever. The lymph nodes in her neck were swollen, but not those in her legs, so it appears that the two problems may have been coincidence. In addition, she has her next set of teeth coming in, so her gums are tender and swollen!

Well, the vet gave her a shot of antibiotics and by the time we got her home, she was peppy, hungry, and thirsty! I was so amazed, I called the vet back to let him know how she was doing. The nurse there said that it can take as little as 20 minutes for the antibiotics to get through the kitten's system (they've got such little bodies!).

So, Little One is as energetic as ever now - she seems to have stored a lot of it up! She's been great about taking her medication. She very patiently opens her mouth while I squirt the amoxakitten in.

So here she is going wild attacking the couch.
